Employment with Xamlon

Sunday, May 16th, 2004

Hello everyone,

As you can see from my lack of blog entries lately, I’ve been quite busy. As of May 1’st I became an employee with Xamlon. This is a great bunch of smart and talented people. I really look forward to seeing our progress and being one of the individuals making that future happen.

If you’re in any way interested in XAML, I highly recommend that you head on over to Xamlon and download the latest Xamlon release (of course, I’m biased). This will enable you to start playing today with XAML on any platform that supports .NET. No need to wait until Longhorn arrives. This coming week, we’ll be releasing a new beta, v.0.8 (beta 4), which will have all sorts of vector graphics goodies in it and a lot more.

Xamlon is sponsoring a community-based blog site, XAMLBlogs.com, for the discussion and evangelism of XAML. I joined that group and posted my first article, Drawing Rectangles, to get my XAML blog started. I plan to write a series of short tutorials describing the basics of vector graphics in XAML in a style very similar to what you’ve seen here on KevLinDev.

On a side note, I think it would be interesting to compare and contrast XAML and SVG. I haven’t been active on my SVG.org blog, but I think that would be a great outlet for that discussion. As time permits, I plan to make posts on that very subject over at SVG.org.
